Midnight Electro Jam
Open Space
Midnight, Friday, January 27th
This free-form performance brings together a group of live electronic musicians, DJs, and VJs for an evening of trance-inducing audio-visual hallucinations. Based loosely on John Cage’s idea that the artists should not rehearse together beforehand, this performance will focus on the happy accidents that happen when experienced performers collect together on stage. This will be a real-time non-repeatable event that will combine elements of drum and bass, electro, futuristic techno, video montage, and video game audio.
Jackson 2Bears is an aboriginal installation and performance artist. Randy Adams is a Canadian writer and visual artist, using digital tools to create light shows for our new millenium. Tanya Doody is a multi-disciplinary artist currently based in Victoria, British Columbia. Her current work investigates transcoding the body through video, performance and the production of objects. Steve Gibson is a media artist, composer, and theorist. Tom Kuo, aka Task, uses his grounding in creative sonic experimentations to pursue a wide range of new media arts. Stefan Müller Arisona, Pascal Mueller, Simon Schubiger-Banz, Matthias Specht form the Scheinwerfer VJ team and are all members of the Corebounce Association. Leonard Paul has a ten year history in making music and coding for video games working for companies.
